Privacy policy
We collect as little as possible. This page explains what we do collect and why.
What we collect
- Essential cookies. A random visitor identifier (signed, no personal data) used to protect forms against forgery and to prevent duplicate poll votes. It expires after one year.
- Poll votes. We store which option was chosen alongside a hashed visitor id and a hashed, salted version of your IP address. We do not store raw IP addresses for votes.
- Email subscriptions. Your email address (and name, if given), subscription status and timestamps. We use double opt-in and every email carries an unsubscribe link.
- Comments. The name and text you submit, moderated before publication.
- Page views. A count per article with a timestamp, used for the "Trending" and "Popular" sections. This is not tied to you.
- Server logs. Standard request logs kept briefly for security and debugging.
Advertising
If advertising is enabled, the ad provider (for example Google AdSense) may use cookies to serve ads. You can control personalised ads through the provider's settings. We will update this page when advertising goes live.
Analytics
We use lightweight internal counters. If a third-party analytics script is enabled it is loaded asynchronously and is listed here.
Your rights
You can unsubscribe using the link in any email, and ask us to delete comments or subscription data via the contact page.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
